What the??

Okay, can someone please explain to me why the pic on my last post is letting you click to enlarge it, yet everyother post won't?? This is something I have been struggling with since I started my blog and for the life of me can not figure out! I did absolutely the same thing I do every single time.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Chipboard clippies!

I know, I know. I am such a keener! I have copied all the cool kids again ;0) But I thought since I had some chipboard I would try some. I had not planned on doing these, cause I was not going to pay $5+ for the the clips! But I finally found some at a dollar store where I work. 5 for a buck is much better than $1+ for each clip!! Anyway, here is my first attempt. I used my cuttlebug to cut out these flower shapes. I must tell you I was very nervous about using my cuttlebug to cut these. I know it says that you can cut chipboard, but I was praying the whole time! It just felt like my acrylic mats were going to snap in half like pour Cindy's did. But alas they made it through. It was fun!! I need some more dies now ;0) I can definitely see myself making one of these for every person I know!! They are fun. I might have to make some of these for Em's school mates for an end of year treat. And I think everyone is getting one for Christmas this year...and bdays...and just because ;0) I gave these ones to my girls...they were thrilled!

I like the largest flower die for these though. I might see if I can find a smaller sized clip for the smaller dies and see how those look. They might make a cute magnet!

My First Coaster Box!

Here it is! My first coaster box. It was fun. It's not perfect...but nothing I ever do is ;0) I was actually so excited about making it I forgot a few things...like to cut my paper around the corners and sand it like I wanted, but it is still okay. And I also had some trouble getting the four corners to match up with the bottom coaster. But it's together and has not fallen apart yet! My first idea was to use my new chocolate paper from the new Spring Mini. I love it. But then I realized...after I attached all the paper to my coasters...that I do not have any nice chocolate or cream ribbon!! What to do? All I had was this, very thin ribbon. Pretty pathetic for tying a bow. So this is the only option that came to mind. I am actually quite happy with it. I even got to use my new Scalloped Circles that I made. Yup, made! Thanks to Cindy, I found this great tutorial for making them. And it really does work and with the oval template as well!! Thank you so much Julie!!

Hubby does'nt like this one all that much...says the colors are boring...but Chocolate Chip is one of my favorite SU colors. This one is all mine!!

Doodles meet OSW

I finally got my Doodle This and Doodle That sets. I knew I wanted to use them but was not sure where to start! So I thought why not do a OSW(One Sheet Wonder). For those of you who have not done this...it is very easy and fun! Just take a White or Ivory sheet of cardstock and stamp your little heart out. There are many different templates out there, but basically with one sheet you can create 6-12 different cards. Anyway, here are my sheets that I created.

I think the second one is my favorite! I like it so much I don't want to cut it up ;0)...but I will!
I am off to make myself a coaster box tonight. Thanks for stoppin' by :0)

Yup...I made this!!

Tonight was a good night in the stamp room! I am quite happy with myself. Hubby went off to hockey at 10:15 and I decided I wanted to go down for a bit before bed. What should I do? Nothing that is too involved...cause I am tired. I remembered Amy's awesome Super Sketch #8 and decided tonight was the night to give it a go. I also tried the Faux Linen Technique too. I would like to try that again as I did'nt quite get the best effect, but I still like the look. I must say when I look at this card, I am quite thrilled with it! I never thought that I could make something so...well pretty. Having some awesome paper and an outstanding sketch to work with really helps!! I think this is one of my favorite cards that I have ever made!! This may seem silly to some, but lately I just have not been making things that I am overly thrilled with. They are okay, but there is always something off or missing to me. I have been getting a bit discouraged with myself lately. Not so tonight! I just wish I could figure out how to get these pics of mine to click up bigger so you could see it better.

Lovin' these coasters!

Just thought I would share another project that I did with my new coasters. This was my first attempt so it's not perfect. I think the cardstock was attached a little crooked, cause it does not really close straight...but I still like it. Just not sure what I am going to do with it now ;0) You can find Beates template here on SCS. I would love to see some more of these little books. If you have done one or attempt one, please send me a link to your creation. I would love to see it!!

I recently got in on a 4 X 4 coaster order. I picked mine up on the weekend and got to work. ;0) I have never used Modge Podge before so I just wanted to try one to start with. I just grabbed for some scrap paper for this first project. Not spectacular, but I still like it. I definitely can see doing more of these...with better paper and ribbon ;0)

Just wanted to leave a quick post tonight and show you what we were up to tonight. I decided to make some of these cute bunnies for Emily to give to her friends at school for Easter. I spent a few days coloring and cutting out the bunny faces. Tonight I had the girls put them together. I think they are kinda cute ;0)

Beate's Trifold

When I saw this template that Beate had on her blog...I had to try it. So tonight was the night...

I started out just doing this with the intent of 'trying' out the template. So I used some scrap paper...nothing that I 'really' liked. But you know...I actually really like this card! Hubby even thought it was really pretty!! Woohoo ;0)

Ink: Pumpkin Pie Marker, Mellow Moss Marker
Accessories: Prima flowers, SU white grosgrain ribbon, silver/white brad

Little Thank you

Here's a little card I did this week and I quite like it. Not a lot of stamping in it, but it was fun, quick and easy to make.

It was fun to use a color that I don't really use...if I have ever used really. I had this paper from a Michael's pack that I bought awhile back and the only color that I could really match to it was Vintage Violet from the new In Color group. It is very simple, but I like it...and that's all that really matters, right? ;0)

Hope you are all having a great weekend. The weather here in Calgary is quite nice. Not much sun, but it is still warm. The girls went out for a bike ride today...it was so nice to get out and do something spring like!! Although, we are gonna have to go buy a new bike for our oldest this year...kinda hard to ride with your knees in your face ;0)

Paper Spree!!

I decided that most of my designer papers are not the nicest. So I went on a paper hunt today. I hit a couple stores and came home with 20 new sheets of 12 X 12 papers and a few other odds and ends ;0)

Island...oh how I wish!

Just a quick post. I was playing with my, new to me, Island Wheel(retired) again this week...

Just wanted to play with the Big Buckle template. It was fun. I will have to play some more with this template for sure! This card? Not 'overly' thrilled with it. It's okay, but maybe the contrast of black and white is a little too much? What do you think? Love the brads though! They are some new black/white that I picked up at Scrapbooker's Paradise awhile back. I just love the packaging...they come in a little nailpolish type bottle.

Where did Spring Go???

Okay yesterday I was out for a nice walk...although it was a tad windy, but still nice! What happened??!!

Yesterday the backyard was pretty much clear of any snow!! Boohoo :0(

Oh well, hopefully it won't stay for long...although it is still snowing this morning!!

Hopefully it is nicer than this where you live.

Joy Fold

Well I have been thinking of trying one of these for some time now. I have seen many on SCS and Nancy did a very pretty one lastweek. So here was my first attempt...

I must say that these are very fun and when you are using patterned paper they are very quick to make. This one was done with some Michaels paper and Going Grey Cardstock. I had a little trouble coming up with a tie closure, but I figured it out and quite like it. I did another one, but it is pretty outrageous!! I thought I would use some paper that I don't really see myself using...well it is awful!! It would hurt your eyes!

Hope you all are having a fabulous Monday! It is beautiful here in Calgary...although it is VERY windy now. 70KM gusting to 100KM. But the snow is melting and the sun is out!!

Accordian Card

I recently discovered this cool accordian template at Paperlicious. I had also seen a few on SCS. So I thought I had to give it a try. I must say it was a pretty big challenge for me. It is a big card to try and come up with an idea for...or at least I found it a challenge. Here is what I came up with...

I like it, but the front still 'needs' something. I tried a few things, but then it just looked too busy. Any suggestions?? I actually tried this card earlier in the week, but I totally distroyed it!! I tried adding a ribbon to try and keep it closed. This was before I bought my new 'Crop-a-dile', and SU punches will not punch through this much cardstock. So I decided instead I would give it a shot without a closure...I still like it.

Spring Blooms

Nothing crafty to post yet today, but I thought I would share a pic of some beautiful flowers hubby brought home the other day. Just a little something to brighten up the house!

Hoping to be back later with a new creation...stay tuned ;0)

update: for those who wanted to know what kind of flowers these are. They are a Cinneraria. And they are actually purple not blue. I am wondering if they have changed color in the evening. Very cool! They are very pretty :0)

Oink Oink Moo

Just thought I would share another creation from lastnight. Maybe it's the fact that I have not slept properly in the past few weeks, but I thought this one was cute...and I still like it.
Hubby does'nt like it. He said that I was calling the person that I am giving this to a pig or a cow!! Not! The pigs and cow are saying 'Happy Birthday'. Since this set is called 'Very Punny' I thought it was fitting. He thought that it should say 'Oink Oink Moo...you belong on a barbeque'.
Men!!

Big Pieces

I had been debating for sometime about whether I 'needed' the new 'Big Pieces' SU set from the Winter Mini. I think I had talked myself out of it, even though I had seen some beautiful creations on SCS. And then my friend Nancy had to go and do this card! So this last order I decided that I did need to have it ;0) I thought for my first creation that I would most likely case Nancy's card, but when I went down to my stamp room, something entirely different emerged. I am a 'build it as you go' kinda girl. So most often I don't really have a plan in mind and this is so true with this one...

For this I use Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. I used Big Pieces, Sincere Salutations and also my new Linen background stamp. I used my markers on the Big Pieces and put them on with dimensionals. The Old Olive layer I stamped Linen in Chocolate Chip and then ran it through my Cuttlebug. Finally I added some ribbon and a few dots of Sakura Clear Gitter pen for a touch of sparkle. I am happy with the way this one turned out.

Sick Kid and Cuttlebug Swap

Yup, now I have a sick kid in the house. Em came home coughing from School yesterday. By the time she went to bed she had a high fever and was feeling quite sick. She ending up in our bed and only slept about 1-2 hours all night. Which meant that so did I :0( She has had a fever all day and spent the whole day on the couch. I am really hoping that she is better tomorrow. It is never fun having a little one sick. She just looks so pathetic...poor kid.

Anyway, onto the creation for today. I finally managed to get my swap cards done the other night. I was not sure that I really liked them at first, but I think they are growing on me now.

We had to use a current SU stamp set but everything else could be non-SU products. So I decided to use my cuttlebug on this one. It is simply, but I think it is okay. I used the ribbon as my color inspiration and went from there. I used my brayer to highlight the cuttlebug layer with white ink.
I just received a SU shipment in today, so I am sure I will have something new to share with you this weekend!
