{ Someone Cares }

Well, here we are. January 31st, 2011 already! I can not believe that it is February already. Wow! But on a positive note? I managed to complete my goal of 8 books this month. Woohoo for me. But onto the next creation...
This was the first card I made at the January Calgals night. Nothing too exciting. I originally had put a Chocolate ribbon on the bottom, but it sucked! I changed it up when I got home and this is what I ended up with. I love the sentiment...stamped it off of Nancy and not too sure who makes this one...the card is just okay.
Thanks for stoppin' by...off to start book #9!

{ 3 more sleeps! }

Has the panic set in yet? ;0) It will all get done and it will be great no matter what.

Just thought I would pop in today between the tobogganing and wrapping to post a few things.
First off...if you have not discovered THIS blog yet...well check it out!!! Be sure to add your name to the followers list...and Karen might have some freebies for all of us! I will definitely be ordering some of her fabulous digis after Christmas is over!!!

Here is another creation I did using my new Verve stamps...

This was a very simple card...but I still like it. This one was using the CFC12 sketch...once again never got it posted in time! ;0)

Thanks for stoppin' by today and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

{ A Calgal Challenge }

I apologize for not posting this week. I have been busy working and shopping. But guess what? I only have 5 more gifts to buy and a few of them are because they are things that will not be available to buy for another week or two. Woohoo for me!! I always say that I want to be finished my shopping by Dec 1st and I am the closest I have ever been. Now I can spend December relaxing, wrapping, baking and just having some Christmas fun instead of freaking out worrying that it won't be done in time!!

Okay...onto the card...here was my take on our Calgals Challenge for November. Shannon gave us this sketch, which was Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge.

Shannon was nice enough to give me a brown flower, since I did not bring any along with me. But when I got home I decided to add this orange one too for some added bling. It's okay... I love my new Verve stamp though!

Well...today is tree and house decorating day today. This will most likely be a whole day affair as I will be setting up my Christmas Village this year. We don't have room in the house for it, so I set it up on the top of our kitchen cabinets. It actually looks really nice there. Maybe I will post some pics once we are all done. I only set it up once in awhile and I thought since this year we are having 3 family dinners here...5 of us on Christmas Day, 15 of us on Boxing Day and 7 of us on the day after Boxing Day! Well...best get started decorating.

{ Birthday Wishes }

I know...real original post title. Thought I should post something since it has been a week! Here is the card I made for my Mom's bday in August. This is a Recessed Window Card. I quite like this one. But this is one of those cards that you probably would not want to mail...very thick and wouldn't want it to get damaged. Try one out...they are really a fun card to make.
Lastnight was our Calgal night. Allison had a good challenge for us! I will post my completed card next time...

{ Woohoo!!! Camping here I come!! }

Just wanted to do a quick post before we head out for the first camping trip of the season! I am just a little excited...can you tell? We are heading off to Mt Kidd for a few nights...so I thought I would leave you with a new creation. I actually got the camera working long enough to take a few pictures...but now it has conked out again! Ugh! Hopefully when we get back I can get it figured out. Just means no pics for this trip. :0( Oh well...how many pics of Mt Kidd can one really have, right?

Here is my Calgal creation from last week. It was Merlie's turn to choose a sketch challenge for us. The image that I used was quite big so I ended up making mine a big larger. I like it, but I think maybe the proportions are a little off...I don't know.

Well...hope you all have a good week. I will post something when I get back...maybe Thursday as I am working ALL day on Wednesday and might not have the time.
Thanks for stoppin' by...

{ Happiness is... }

...definitely not this weather!! UGH! Okay...now it is gone, but this morning and most of the day it was snowing...yet again! Luckily it has warmed up so much over the past week that it did not stick around for long. I am really hoping that if anymore moisture arrives that it comes as rain...hopefully!

Thought I would share another new creation with ya. This one was done as a bday card for my friend Dianne and was also my take on MojoMonday # 77. I love these little skunks from The Angel Company. I don't use them enough!

I managed to create some cards over the weekend. I have a binder FULL of colored images that I REALLY need to use up. I have vowed to not color any new images until I use up at least half of my colored stock...which will take me awhile. You really have no idea how many I have...REALLY!! I received some new TGF images a few weeks ago and colored all 5 of the new The Wild Things images. So I used the same sketch and made 5 cards, plus made a bday card for my nephew and one more that is almost done. Yup...that's right! 7 cards in one weekend! That is pretty impressive considering I have not done any creating in weeks! I will admit that I do like most of them...however, there were a few that I was not overly thrilled with. I will let you be the judge when I get them posted.

Thanks for droppin' in...

{ Ahh Spring...Not! }

I am soooooo ready for this winter to end. And just when you thought you could see the light. BAM!! We got hit with a nice little winter storm last night and -27C windchills today. Yuck! I really didn't want to go out today, but my youngest had her Ballet exam today. We are now home and I am planning on spending the day at home and maybe doing some stamping...if the basement is not too cold!

Thought I would share another creation with you all today. This one I really love. This stamp is so fun to color...Angel Company's Gerber Daisy. And of course another Mojo Monday sketch...MojoMonday #52. Not much else to say about this one other than...I love it!

Thanks for stoppin' by today. Oh...you will be seeing even more Greeting Farm creations soon. I received my winnings from Marie...Skater Ian and Digi Geisha Anya... and I also picked up a couple of Digi images lastnight too...Dorothy Anya and Pretty Head Lily!! I am so happy to report that my printer works with the Copics!! I just printed the images on my Staples paper and I was able to color the images with no problems!! Woohoo!!

{ Always look on the... }

...bright side of life. How so very true! Here is a creation I did last week using an image that I swiped during our January CalGal night. I love this Fluffles image...might have to get this one for myself one day. Not too sure where this sketch came from...but my guess is that it is one of Julee's sketches. I really love this Tangerine Tango color. I have never really been an orange kinda girl, but this really does make me happy.

{ Ladies...start your engines }

Okay...that was just a stupid title. I know! But that is kinda how I feel. This week is gonna be a crazy one for me. I am taking 2 classes this week at the Pantry. Tonight is my Cricut pt1 class and then Wednesday night is my Copic class with Shannon! Then we have all the regular weekly madness of work, school, gymnastics and ballet and then I have my own class that I am teaching on Friday night. So a very busy week...but a fun one too!

I just realized that I don't think I posted this card yet. Nothing special, but I quite like this one. I love this little Changito image. It's funny though...everytime I color him I always color the flower exactly the same way. Do you find you do that with some images or is it just me? I will have to branch out on the next one and color it Pink or Red! I believe this one was a SCS sketch...but again which one? No idea! I promise to start keeping better track of these things!

Thanks for stoppin' by and have a great week!

{ Happy 88th! }

Just noticed that I have not posted in a few days...tisk tisk.

Okay one quick post before I head off to bed.

Not sure if you saw this post on Ila's blog by Tina(owner of HighHopes Stamps). Turns out her Grandfather is turning 88 and asked if anyone would like to make him a special bday card. I thought that is cool...then proceeded to forget about it. Then I saw this card made by the incredibly talented Ila! So I thought...I must do this! So here is my card. This photo really is not the best...it does look much better in real life...honest! ;0) This was a good challenge. I always have a hard time with masculine cards, but I quite like how this one turns out. I do believe that I used another one of Julee's sketches for my inspiration. I really need to start writing these things down so I know what I did when I write these blog posts!
I sure do hope that Tina's Grandfather does not get freaked out by all the cards coming from around the world from complete strangers. I would love to see his face!

Well, I am off to bed. When the kids came home from school today, I took a step and have done something nasty to my back. I am really hoping it is better in the morning!! It is one of those...can't stand up straight kinda things. I tried a hot bath, but it is still killing me! Okay enough of my whining...off to bed I go. Be sure to come back on Thursday...got I big Challenge reveal for ya'll! ;0)

{ Weekend Fun! }

Just a quick post. I only have a few hours until I leave for the Calgary Classic. That is right...a whole weekend of just stampin'. Although, hubby has decided to share his sickness with me. I am hoping that once I get there and am surrounded by stampers, stamps, ink and paper that I will magically feel better!!

Okay, here is a new creation for ya. I did this one a few weeks ago but just never got around to posting it. This is a
High Hopes image that I recieved as a RAK from my stampin' friend Charlene. This was a fun one to color. Thanks again Charlene!!
Well, I am off to get the girls from the bus, have a quick bite to eat and then my friend Dianne is coming over and we are gonna head on over to the Calgary Classic.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! I know I will!

{ LCSC #12 Entry }

Good day everyone! I got the chance to play a bit lastnight and decided to work on this weeks LCSC #12. This week Jen said with the sketch we could use an Anthony & Burt stamp. And since I just happen to have one now...I decided to play! I was not too sure about these images once I received it. Just cause it is a bit big. But I actually quite like it. They are kinda cute, don't you think? I like the image just not totally sold on my choice of papers. But it is okay.

Since I am talking about Littlecs, just thought I would let you all know about the great sale that Jen is having for the entire month of October! 35% off Everything! Go! Check it out!

Thanks for stoppin' by and a big Happy Turkey Day to all the Canadians out there! Enjoy!

{ Playin' with more new toys...and an update }

Just thought I would post a quick update on my DD dental surgery on Tuesday. All went well...aside from her initial coming too! Wow! They were not kidding when they said that they tend to be VERY cranky when the first come too after surgery. She was thrashing and screaming. Thank goodness that did not last long, cause that was one of the hardest parts for me. We kept trying to talk to her hoping that if she heard our voice it calm her down...but no way! She finally settled down and went back to sleep and the next time she woke up was much better! There has been no pain at all...which is awesome! They only thing that was bothering her was the IV site. She finally took the bandage off her hand lastnight and now we know why. You should see the nasty bruise she ended up with. Pretty much takes up the entire top of her hand! Wow! But she did very well, considering all the work they did on her...1 very nasty absessed tooth pulled, 2 baby root canals with crowns, 6 teeth coated and 2 more teeth filled down to buy us some more room in her mouth. We just have to go back on the 22nd to have the spacer put in. Hopefully this will be the last of it for quite awhile! She went back to school today...we were not too sure about sending her, but looks like she decided to finish the day out.

Okay...onto more fun things. Here is another creation using one of my new stamps! I just love these Penny Black Hedgehogs...too cute! The sketch that I used for inspiration was SC196 over at SCS. I am really lovin' this one! I am heading to the SCS Calgary Classic next weekend and plan to work on my Christmas cards all weekend. I am thinking that I might be doing up a bunch of these ones in various color combos. I don't know if you can tell from the photo, but I also added some Crystal Effects to the light bulbs.

Thanks for stoppin' by and hope all the Canadians out there have a great Thanksgiving!! It will be a relaxing weekend here. Hubby works all weekend, but we will be having dinner at his parents on Monday...he will meet us there. But I think we will just relax and get DD back to her normal self.

{ Two Challenges in One! }

When one is busy...you do two challenges in one! This month for our CalGal Challenge, Allison challenged us to make a Snowman card. And I also wanted to play with Jen's LCWC #9. Although, looking back at the challenge now...I see that I missed the second part of the challenge, which was to use buttons!! Oh well. I love this little snowman(retired TAC). It is a very simple image, but so cute!

On another note...I got my van back tonight!! Woohoo!!! You have no idea how happy I am right now!! Of course I am $840 poorer now, but I have my van back!!

Okay...I am off to have a strawberry daiquiri with hubby now. ;0)
Thanks for stoppin' by!

{Fevers, Candy winnings and RAK's}

How's that for a creative title? Sorry, not feeling so creative today. It was a looooonnnnnggggg night. Our oldest was sick with a fever lastnight and she does not deal with fevers well...at all! Some of you may have this same problem. Anytime she has a fever we know we are in for an interesting experience. She usually is hard to control. She tends to act very strange. Lots of confusion, uttering jibberish and crying. And lastnight was no exception. She even had some uncontrolable shaking which freaked her and me out too! She said she was having falling dreams all night too...which did not help either. But she is better today. Although, I did just give her some more Advil...the fever is starting to return, but not too bad at this point. Just a lazy day in our house today.
Okay onto better stuffs...
Thought it was high time to show off some of the Candy winnings and RAK's I have received over the past few weeks.
This first one is from my friend Catherine. I had sent Catherine a card a few weeks ago and this was what she sent to me! I have seen some of these necklaces on her blog, but now I have one of my own. Although, my girls seem to have stolen it! Thanks again, Catherine. :0)

This next one is actually my August Aloha RAK from Teri. Not only did she include this awesome card and Cuttlebug folder, but check out the cute altered mint container! So cute. Thanks again, Teri!

And now onto all my recent candy winnings! First off was my challenge win over at Jen's blog for her store LittleC's. I won this adoreable High Hopes stamp. Thanks again, Jen!

Then I was lucky enough to be picked by Dawn for this cute camping set by SUI. I have not opened this one yet, but hope to maybe later this week. Thanks again Dawn for picking my name!! :0)

And lastly, I was lucky enough to win one of the random draws over at SCS for the Verve Anni-Verve-sary Challenge. I won my choice of a $15 set. This was my choice. As you can see, I have used the sentiment, but have not played any further yet...yet. I am hoping to play with this one this week too! Thanks again, Julee!

And now I will leave you with a little creation of mine from last week. I finally decided to try out one of those cute little circle Nestie cards I have seen everyone doing. And I also used my first EVER rub-on! Yup...that's right. Finally! It came out a little off center, but I really like the final result.
Hope everyone has a great day and thanks for stoppin' by and listening to my looonnnggg ramblings today. :0)

{ Check it out! }

Okay...so if you have not heard of Whiff of Joy yet...where have you been!!?? Katharina is having a hugh blog candy giveaway right now. Go check it out. These Guardian Angels are just so sweet. Go check it out!!

On a side note? I realized something lastnight. You know these great sketches that Julee has for the AVS Challenge on SCS? I will not be able to complete them for the giveaway. We are leaving on Monday for some more camping. Oh well...I still plan to do them all and with all a Christmas theme too! Guess, I will just have to buy the line like all the rest of ya. ;0) Well except for the lucky winner that is.

Oh...here is another couple BIA creations for ya. My girls asked me to make them little sticker books just like Mommy's wish book. Lovin' my BIA...it definitely gets easier with more practice. Not that it is hard...just trying to decide on coil size is the tricky part.

Later...

{ AVS02 & AVS03 }

Okay...quick post...gotta get outside with the girls and read more of my book. It is soooooo good!!

Here is my entry for
AVS02. I am really liking this one and my ribbon seems to be behaving for me, so that always helps. And I even used some buttons!! I just love Julee's sketches...don't you?

This is my take on AVS03. You might need your sunglasses for this one! I know a little bright. But I had this image with the stack of colored ones and thought I should use it up. Even though it is a bright one...I like it. And as you have guessed by now? All 12 of these sketches I am gonna do Christmas cards. I need to get going on them and thought this was a good opportunity to do it. So while the rest of you are making beautiful flowery and butterfly cards...I am shivering in the cold! ;0)

Okay...back to the book...later...

{ It's the little things }

Happy Sunday All! Well, it is a gloomy Sunday here. Don't know about the rest of you, but...What happened to summer!!?? It really has not been a great summer weather wise here in Calgary. I am sure hoping that it is nice next week when we head off camping again.

Onto the creation for today.

This one I used Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch #44. I really like this sketch...definitely will use this one again! This one is a real girly card. I used an Elyzbell image sent to me by my friend Dottie. I added lots of irridecent ice, a TAC sentiment and used my new Swiss Dot cuttlebug folder. I was not too sure about the plain pink layer so added the glitter and like it a bit more. Over all I think it turned out pretty cute.

Thanks for stoppin' by.

p.s I forgot to mention that this is also my take on the Color Throwdown Challenge 1.

{ Gotta Love...}

... new music finds! I was blurfin' this morning and came across some new music via Maria's blog. Maria has introduced me to some great music since I started visiting her blog. So while I was at Utube checkin these out...I found Tyrone Wells! I found his myspace site. I am in the process of downloading his new album right now. Check it out...you might like it too! Thanks Maria for some great music to start my week! :0)

Okay, I will even share a new creation with you too. I manage to do some new creations lastnight and it was a good night. I am feeling my mojo coming back...was feeling a bit out of sorts lately. Just need to create more, I think! But here is an old one for you. This was a bday card for a friends 7yr old earlier this month. This was an image that I recieved from Miss Dottie awhile back and the sketch...I believe was a MojoMonday sketch from when I was away...catching up on my sketch challenges, even though I am late. Nothing exciting, but it turned out cute enough.
Have a great Monday all!

{ Proud Mommy Moment }

This week my girls have been in swimming lessons. My oldest is...well...she is a big chicken when it comes to almost everything. She just lacks confidence in most things...it's something we struggle with a lot with her. Anyway... during swimming lessons she has always struggled to put her face in the water and most recently letting go of the edge of the pool...despite the fact that she can touch the bottom of the pool. ;0) Well all week in lessons this has continued and the teacher was always having to hold her as she did her front and back floats and glides. Each day she has been practicing on her own at the side...trying to let go...for a second at a time. ;0) And then on Thursday the teacher put flippers on all the kids. She started trying on her own...which was exciting. Then at the end of the class he had them all swim the entire length of the pool! I thought...this should be interesting. Well guess what? She did it! The entire length of the pool she was swimming with the other kids. The teacher was actually helping some of the other kids with their technique and was no where near her. She was right in the middle of the pack...SWIMMING!!! Let's just say I was very close to tears. So with that in mind, I decided that she needed a card...and I had a challenge to complete too. ;0)

I am not 100% happy with this card. There are a few little issues with it, but she liked it.
I just noticed that the ribbon was crooked for the pic...oh well.
This one was for
Jen's LCAWC #1. This one was a sketch done by Maria. The card turned out okay, but I just am not thrilled with all the white...kinda sticks out too much. What do you think?
I was cleaning up my stamp room lastnight...god knows it needs it!! But, man do I have a lot of scraps! I need to find me a good sketch for using up scraps of DP. Anyone have a good one??
Have a great weekend all! :0)
