Looks Like Spring...not!

I wish! Certainly not here in Calgary today...more snow. I am getting quite sick of winter! I am soooo ready for spring. Tried to get out in the snow today but no luck. I look after a little girl who will not leave shoes on and getting boots on her is a chore. She curls up her toes so bad that it is next to impossible to get any foot wear on her!! She should be out side playing, but I can't put her out with nothing on her feet!! Very frustrating!!! Okay enough of my ranting ;0)

I went down to play lastnight cause I am sooo horrible! I have a swap that I need to have in by next Wednesday!! Yup, guess I will be sending it out Express tomorrow ;0) Actually I did'nt even get it done lastnight, so looks like I will be up late finishing it tonight! I started another card the other day, but got stuck. So lastnight I picked it up again and am quite happy with it!

I know a lot of people have said this, but we really need a punch for this big flower from the ' Looks Like Spring' set!! I think I actually like this card though. There is no saying of any kind, but I guess I can add that when I decide to give it to someone ;0)

My new toys arrived!

Look what I got in the mail today! My new Whipper Snapper stamps!! I have been looking for a Plumeria stamp for sometime now and finally found something that looks just like one!! Why a Plumeria? It is my favorite flower. Hubby and I were married in Maui and of course the Plumeria is everywhere, but it was also in my wedding bouquet and I just LOVE them!! I am sooo excited to use my new stamp. I had to take a pic of the packaging it all came in too! Very nicely packaged...

I think I will have to do another Whipper Snapper order again soon ;0) I so love their cute animal stamps!! The bunny face is for the project I am making for my daughters class for Easter. I will probably make a sample this week and post a pick!

I am sick...again!

I must say since my oldest has started school, I just have not been able to stay healthy. I really need to get me some vitamins or something!!

Anyway, just thought I would share something that I did the other day for a monthly swap I am in.

The card base is Chocolate Chip, then a layer of Cool Caribbean which I put through my cuttlebug. I then used some Chocolate Chip pastels and brushed the top with a finger sponge. Used some of my new Costco ribbon and added a flower diecut from my cuttlebug with some dimensionals. The 'just because' is from the new 'Fancy Flexible Phrases' set. I used some of the Chocolate Chip pastels again on the edges of the flower diecut. This was a very quick and easy card. I actually started with the ribbon as my inspiration. I really need to start doing this more often. I don't know about everyone else, but I do a card and then have no ribbon to match it. And that is hard to believe with all the ribbon I have!!

I am now off to the couch...thanks for stoppin' by :0)

Teabag Book

Here is a project I made for one of my ladies in my Stampers' Club. I found the template here on SCS. I don't have a binding system so she suggested using ribbons...why I did'nt think of that ;0) This one holds 4 teabags. I added some fun little tea quotes to the inside pages too. These are fun little projects for the tea lovers in your life...

Candy Box

I managed to get some projects done this weekend. Unfortunately, I cannot share them yet. They are for my Stampers' Club meeting on Wednesday and I don't want to ruin any surprises!! So I will post later in the week. But I do have this cute little Candy Box that I found on SCS yesterday! I had to try one lastnight...

This was done just using some patterned paper from Michaels and a couple of Michael's ribbons. I was just testing the pattern to see how easy it was...Very easy. You should give it a try. Just something new and different for gifty ideas.

Thanks for stoppin' by and be back later. I got a shipment of cuttlebug folders this weekend...can't wait to play!!

Oh! And be sure to stop by Kendra's blog for some AWESOME candy!!

Valentine Treats

Just thought I would do a quick post and show you what I made tonight. I wanted to make something for Emily to take to school for Valentines Day. There are 20 kids in her class, so I wanted something fairly quick and easy. I thought about doing nugget boxes, but decided against that ;0) Then I remembered seeing some cute Lollipop covers. So this is what I came up with...

I will be buying some bigger lollipops for them, but you get the idea. Nothing too exciting, but she liked them! I got everything stamped, punched and ready. Just have to assemble them all now. 1 down and 24 more to go...making a few extras for teachers, bus driver and a few friends on the bus ;0)

Got my mojo back!

Yup that's right. Since my accident I have not been in the mood for creating. I tried the other night and must say that what I came up with was a complete disaster!! Hubby just said 'just goes to show that you should'nt create when your not feeling into it'. Yup...it was hideous!! But tonight was much better!! Mainly cause I am feeling a bit better tonight...I think ;0)

I took a look at this weeks
Splitcoast Sketch Challenge. So I gave it a go and this is what I came up with.

This one was done with Chocolate Chip, Close To Cocoa, So Saffron and Very Vanilla Cardstock. The Palm Tree is a stamp my mom just got me from Walmart. I used my Stampin' Pastels to color the tree and background...although you can't really tell in the pic. The 'Happy' is from the new 'Polkadots and Paisley' set from the up coming Spring Mini and 'Birthday' is from 'Everyday Flexible Phrases'. The wording is a bit off, but it is okay. I then used a couple of my new Hawaii Ice Spice Rack Primas that hubby got from Frantic Stamper. Over all, I think I am liking this card. I think it could be for either a man or woman...even with the flower. What do you think?

The inspiration for this card came from this one on SCS by GingernHI. Love her card! Mine is okay though...it is better than that 'thing' I made the other night ;0)

Thanks for stoppin' by :0)

Stampin' withdrawl!!

Yup...that's me. It has been 1 week since I did any stampin!! The accident that I had lastweek as left me with a bit of an injury, which has affected my stampin' :0(
Finally got into Physio today. Seems I have some injury/damage to the muscles and nerves of my upper back and neck. So he did some mild massage and heat today...just about killed me!! But I am hoping that with some work it will feel better soon.

But the stampin is a bit hard. I did mange a bit the other night. Hubby came home and asked if I was gonna go down to my stampin' room? Why? I ask ;0) Seems he needs an extra large card for a girl that just had a baby at work. But he needs it to be big enough for the whole store to sign!! I have never made a card that big before! What to do?? So I thought this is a perfect opportunity to test out my Cuttlebug Alphabet dies!! Here is what I came up with...

This picture is not the best, but you get the idea. Here I used a full sheet of Brocade Blue, with a layer of some paper from a Michaels pack. Then layered some Chocolate Chip and used the 'Weathered' Background in Chocolate Chip. The letters are then cut using the same Michaels paper using my Cuttlebug Olivia Alphabet Die. The centre layer is using one of my 'House Mouse' stamps. Love House Mouse!! And this little guy is perfect for a baby card...or at least I think so ;0) I used my Pastels to color the House Mouse stamp...just to give it a softer look. I used my Tag Punch to create a double sided tag for the center layer and then just used scissors to create the other layers. I think I am happy with this one.

Hoping to be able to play some with my new SAB stamps this week...stay tuned! Also, be sure to check in soon... I am approaching 5000 hits to my little blog here and will be giving away some blog candy as a thankyou!!
