Blog Candy and Primas

Just thought I post a quick note. Anyone interested in the Prima flowers that I have on my first 'Paradise Penguin' post? These were purchased from franticstamper.com. They are from the Hawaiian Spice Rack set. Check it out. My hubby order a few things for me for Christmas from this site and this is also where I purchased my Sakura Clear Glitter pens from. Check it out!!

Also, wanted to let you know that you should head on over to Cindys and Nancy's blogs. They are both giving away some awesome blog candy. While you are there be sure to check out all of their creations. A couple of talented ladies!!

Car go boom!

Well it finally happened...got into my first car accident. Of course it had to happen on the way to a birthday party with both my girls in the van. Everyone is fine...the van was dented and scratched on the passenger side along the whole width of the sliding door. They can probaby just push it out, but the track for the door will probably have to be replaced. It was not my fault, but I still feel really crappy about the van. My neck is quite sore today, but I will live ;0)

Just wanted to do a quick post of my newest Penguin creation...have I told you how much I love these little guys?!!

This one was done using some patterned from Michael's that I put through my CB with the D'vine Swirls Embossing folder. And it just so happened that this paper matches quite well with SU Mellow Moss and Blush Blossom! Colored the penguin with Mellow Moss, Blush Blossom and Regal Rose ink with a blender pen. I added a little hint of sparkle with my clear glitter gel pen. Added 3 Primas with some mini white brads I picked up from Scrapbookers Paradise this week.
And of course some sheer Michaels ribbon. I also used some pop up foam dots to add some dimension to the penguin layer. I think this one is cute, but pretty at the same time.

Thanks for stoppin' by.

I got one too!!

A Watermark that is ;0)

Cindy , an online stampin' friend of mine, has started up a little business of doing custom watermarks for your blog pics. I have seen hers and some of the other ones that she has done and wanted one. I was trying to do one on my own, but nothing that I could come up with was as nice as the ones Cindy was creating. I sent her an email this morning and she is already done creating my new watermark!! So stay tuned...

And if you would like one of your own check out her blog...and while you are there check out Cindy's creations. She is a very talented lady. She does it all...stamps, knits, sews and bakes!!

Be back soon!

Lovin' the Penguins!!

Yup...I finally received my 'Penguin Paradise' set from my Ebay splurges. I have been trying to win the auctions for this set for like the last year and I keep getting out bid. I finally decided no matter what I was getting this set!! So I bid my little heart out and won!! Tonight I sat down and made my first card with these little cuties and I must say I am in love. What do ya think??
This one was done using Tempting Turquoise, Gable Green and Regal Rose. I ran the Tempting Turquoise layer through my Cuttlebug with the Divine Swirls folder, then swiped it with a paper towel that I had added white ink to. The 'Aloha' was punched out from my Cuttlebug using my 'Olivia Alphabet Die'. I then sponged ink to make them stand out and blend with the other colors. Colored the little guy with ink and blender pens. I also added my clear glitter gel Sakura pen to the splashes, outlined the waves, dotted the center of the flowers of his swim trunks and outlined the Gable Green layer and Regal Rose layer. I then got to use my new Hawaiian Primas. The inside says 'Just a little note to brighten up your day and let you know I think you are Special in Every Way!' This is a new stamp that I bought from an online Garage Sale on a Yahoo list I belong to for Canadian Stampers(CST). I think it is a great stamp for those 'just because' cards.
I really should give this to someone special...but I think it might just stay in my stamproom for a bit...he is just too cute...or I may have to make a few more!!

Yummy cookies and stampin' stuff too!

Last week Cindy had posted a recipe for some cookies she had made for a baby shower. I thought that they sounded awful yummy. So the girls and I made some the other night. Just have to say thank you to Cindy!! The girls had so much fun icing these and have now decided that they want to only make these cookies from now on ;0)

Something else that I have enjoyed lately is all these cute little stamps that everyone has been getting at Michaels. So when I was there the other day I thought I would take a look and see if by chance we had some yet. And they did. So I treated myself to some Valentine stamps!! Love these stamps and for $1.50 each for the large ones and $1.50 for two of the smaller ones... you can't go wrong! Here are my new stamps and a few cards I made with them...
You can not see it that well in the pic, but the black layer I ran through my Cuttlebug with the Swirls embossing folder, then wiped it with some white chalk . The red ribbon is from my new purchase of Costco ribbon and the black ones are from Michaels. Used my Silver Sakura Glitter Gel pen on the cupcake holder and the Clear Sakuar Gel Pen on the hearts. I really like the way this one turned out!

And since I had the chalks out I used them to color in the hearts on this one. Added some Clear Sakura Glitter Gel pen and a few gems for some added bling. The ribbon on the bottom was one of my Michaels bargain finds. I liked it but it is quite thick and I have never really found anything to use it on. It matched the Pixie Pink so I thought I would add it to this one. Not too sure if I like it or not. What do you think?

Okay now for the one creation I made this weekend that I absolutely love!! I have a 'Stamp-a-ma-jig' and don't use it a ton, but could not live without it. I wanted to create something that would enable me to use my 'Stamp-a-ma-jig' to its full potential. I have seen some cards in older Stampin' Up! catalogues that I have wanted to try...well I tried one of my own. Here it is...

This was done using some more Michaels $1.50 stamps. The background is a stamp with the 3 flowers. So off I went with my 'Stamp-a-ma-jig'. The colors used on this were Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink and Barely Banana. The ribbon is another bargain bin ribbon from Michaels. It matches perfect to the Perfect Plum...although you can't really tell in the photo. I colored the flowers using a blender pen and ink, then colored the centers over with my Clear Sakura Glitter Gel pen. I added a clear gem on the flower of the tag and a purple gem on the dot of the 'i'. This one was fun.

Tag Punch Purse Favor Instructions

Some ladies were having difficulties getting into SCS to read the instructions for these cute little purses. So here we go...these instructions were written up by Brenda Quintana on SCS.

Supplies:
Tag Punch
Card stock or heavy patterned paper
Stamps
Ink
Sticky Strip
Hershey's Nugget or Kiss

1. Start with a strip of cardstock/patterned paper 1-3/8" X 4-3/4"
2. Punch the end of the card stock with the tag punch(but leave the strip long) To do this feed the strip through the front of the tag punch and then out the bottom of the back. If you have trouble doing this, feed the strip through the on the diagonal and then straighten before punching.
3. Stamp strip as desired.
4. Starting from the tag-punched end, score the card stock at the 3/4", 1", 2-1/4" and 3-1/4". Then cut off any remaining cardstock so that the total length is 4-1/2"
5. Cut a 4" Length of ribbon and attach to the purse with sticky strip.
6. Mark and punch hole where you will attach your brad to the purse.
7. Put a mini glue dot on the Hershey's nugget or Kiss and position it inside the purse.

Hope this helps. If anyone still needs any help just let me know. Have fun!!

Are these not adorable??!!

Okay so I came across these awhile back but never tried one...until lastnight. And now I can't stop making them!!

They are called 'Tag Punch Nugget Purses'. They hold a Hershey Nugget or a Hershey Kiss/Hugs. I made the Turquoise and Pink Polkadot ones for my girls lastnight. They just LOVE them...so do I ;0) I changed the pattern to incorporate both tag punches. I wanted to be able to use some of the new Designer paper from SU and I also just bought a bunch of paper from Michaels. The smaller over lay is 3/16" smaller than the larger punch. If anyone needs help just let me know. Try some...they are just too cute!!!
I think this one is my favorite!

One more post for today!

I know that Cindy had mentioned on her blog last week that she had purchased some ribbon at Costco. And I know that I was thinking to myself...'I wonder if we will get that here in Calgary?'. Well guess what?? We have it, so of course I had to get one! I was given a Costco gift card for Christmas...so why not! Wow!! 40 ribbons for $25!! Not bad eh??

And then my friend Dianne had told me about a dollar store here in Calgary, so I thought I would check it out today. Well I went there before I went to Costco. Look what I got at Dollar World??

Yup! More ribbon!! Yikes...I think I am gonna need a few ribbon holders now!! Can you have too much ribbon?? ;0)

My new Ink Pad Storage!!

It arrived yesterday and I had to share!! I bought this from Ebay and would highly recommend it. The seller is awesome and the unit is awesome!!
Then I thought since I was downstairs taking this picture...I might as well show you the rest of my stampin' space. My basement is not developed, but it is still my own space and it is coming along quite nicely...even without walls, floor, lighting, etc ;0)

These are my two tables. The first is one of those large folding tables. I do not recommend getting one of these for stamping. First thing...I actually melted it while embossing ;0) and it has too much give to it to do other projects like setting eyelets and using large background stamps. But the other table is awesome. My mom bought it for me for Christmas. It is from Ikea here in Canada and it only cost $39.99!!! I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a crafting table!!
This pic is of my desk, but what I really wanted to show you was how I store my 8 1/2 X 11 cardstock. This is one of those plastic hanging file folder boxes. I bought a stack of files and seperated all my colors into their respective color families. But I have found now that I need another one. When I first started stamping I would just buy a pack of a full color family, but now I am buying individual colors as I run out. But I find this works great for me!

This is a pic of my wall of art. I just took some hemp thread and made a few rows to hang some of my own creations and some of the creations I have received from other people. I is a little bare right now as I gave away all mine for Christmas!! But I am workin' on getting my stock pile back up again ;0)

Here is the cabinet holding all my Stampin' Up! stamp sets and some of my embellishments and other odds and ends.

This is quite amazing!! This past May, my hubbys Grandmother past away. When his parents went out to clean up her things they brought back this supply of beads!! It is pretty amazing. I have used some, but they will truely last me my lifetime!! I am one lucky girl...I know!

And of course I had to take a pic of my beautiful Prima's!! All I can say is I want more of these beauties!!! Love them!
Well that's a little peak into my little space. Thanks for stoppin' by :0)

Officially finished my Black and White with Pop of Color Swap!

Finished my swap the other night. Did a little change to my original design...not much, but I am liking it a bit more now. Hope everyone likes it...still not too sure that I do, but oh well.

Like My New Mug?

I asked hubby for one of those blank mugs from Starbucks so I could stamp my own. Well here is my first creation. He does'nt like it. Says it looks like something you could buy from Starbucks now! Okay maybe, but I was feeling ill when I made it and not overly creative. But for this week it stays. I am awaiting my new 'Penguin Paradise' from my recent Ebay shopping spree. So once that arrives, but sure that I will be changing this!!

French Flair 3 X 3

Okay so I think this maybe the one I use for my 'Black and White with color pop' swap. What do you think of this one?
On another note...yesterday was an exciting one in our household.

My hubby got to be a part of the Allstar game for the NCHL here in Calgary. He is a member of the league and is the goaltender for the Chargers. The Allstar skills and game were held here at the Saddledome!! It was very exciting. Of course I forgot the camera!! But my inlaws had theirs and my brother in-law brought the video camera. It was very cool. There were 3 goalies so he only got to play 1 period, but still very exciting. His team won the game 7-5!!

Thanks for stoppin' by and I will be back with a new creation tonight or tomorrow!

Second post for today.

I just had one more thing I wanted to share. More so just to get your opinion. I joined a swap that sounded pretty cool. It is using black and white only with a 'Pop' of color. I joined up for the 3 X 3 full card swap. But once I actually sat down to make it? Well it was kind of difficult. I wanted to add so much more to it, but could not. Well here it is...what do you think? My hubby says that he likes it a lot. I think I do but it just seems...blah.
This is a 3 X 3 card. I used Whisper White, Basic Black and Lovely Lilac. I added some faux stitching to the Lilac layers and some pastels to the 'Happy' and 'find joy...' layers.
Thanks for stoppin' by :0)

More embossing folders!

I tell ya this Cuttlebug is just too much fun!! I got myself another embossing folder the other day...'Happy Birthday'. So of course I had to use it! But what do make? I got my inspiration from the new sketch challenge on Splitcoast Stampers...SC105...here is the gallery with all the entries for this challenge!! Check it out! I really like this sketch. Although, mine turned out a little different. I think my circle is a little large and because of that I did'nt want to cover it up...if that makes any sense ;0) I think I am happy with it though. What do you think?
The colors used were Not Quite Navy, Barely Banana and Gable Green. I used my Pastels to color the embossed circle added some piercing with my piercing template. The background on the main card is done with 'Island Blossoms'(retired hostess set). Added some small Primas with some colored bling to the center.
Hoping to get to Michaels tomorrow for another embossing folder...or maybe a diecut? Can't decide...you will have to stay tuned in ;0)
Thanks for stoppin' by.

My first gel card!!

Okay to start off tonight, you may have heard me say this already...I Love My Cuttlebug!!!

I was so excited to get my SU Fishy Friends set for Christmas. The whole reason I wanted it was so that I could make some gel cards. Well tonight I not only made my first gel card, but also got to use my Swirls embossing folder, my new Fishy Friends set and my new Hawaiian Prima Flowers!! What fun. Okay here it is...

I used Tempting Turquoise, Cool Caribbean and Certainly Celery. And of course I used a little Clear Gel Sakura Pen. What fun these gel cards are!! I had a little issue with taping the wrong side first but all in all I am thrilled with how it turned out. And trust me when I say that it is truely better in real life!! ;0)

Thanks for stoppin' by and hope you all had a fun and safe New Years!!
