{ Just because }

It's another crappy, crappy day here in Calgary. Oh and guess what? It is suppose to be nice and warm tomorrow!! Oh and guess what? Then the cold is suppose to return...once again. Seriously? If this is someones idea of a joke? I don't get it.

Onto better and happier things...























This one was created using a cute little hedgehog image I believe I snagged off of Shannon during a Calgal gathering last year sometime. I can not remember for the life of me what sketch I used for inspiration. My guess is an old MojoMonday, but not sure which one. If you know, please let me know. I like this one. Although, I should have used another color besides the green on the back layer. I should have just stuck with the pink or purple perhaps. Oh well. Like I said, I still like it.

I am at home with a sick kid today. She came home from school yesterday. She has been stuffed up all weekend and sore throat. I thought last night that I would send her today cause she seemed fine. Then I decided to keep her home. She is still really stuffed up, sore throat, headache. So she is drinking some hot chocolate and watching a Harry Potter movie right now.

I am thinking of setting up a book blog today. Since there is equal amounts of craftiness and books. What do ya think? And on that note? I got a very exciting email yesterday. For those of you that frequent GoodReads, there is a section of book giveaways. I have been entering them for awhile now. Just the ones that interest me. I finally won my first one! It is a firstread win. It is called Touch by Alexi Zentner and will not be released until April 12, 2011. I am very excited. So stayed to tuned for my review.

Well, off to clean and maybe read today...and maybe set up a new blog too...who knows.

Here is a quick post...just on my way out the door for a wee-bit-o shopping today.

This is another of my new Hedgie stamps from Christmas. Lovin' this one too! I will update this post later, as I can not remember for the life of me which SCS sketch I used for my inspiration. Knowing me, it probably looks nothing like the sketch. Lately I have found I start off with a sketch and then it turns into something completely different by the time I am finished with it. I guess that is a good thing in the end.

{ Back to normal...}

Well as normal as it ever gets! Kids were back to school today...back to early mornings...back to making lunches...back to routines. Sounds so exciting eh? I guess it is not entirely bad though.

So I have been thinking the past few days...yup...and you get to listen. ;0)

Instead of listing a whole bunch of goals for the year I am going to chose a word for 2009. My word for the year will be FOCUS. It is something that I need to do in every aspect of my life. I need to FOCUS on my health and get back to a healthy lifestyle. I am not going to start listing pounds and sizes...I just want to get active and get Happy! I need to FOCUS on the positive people in my life and not worry about the other stuff. I need to FOCUS on getting my finances under control. I need to FOCUS on stamping/crafting for the love of it again and not worry about what everyone else is doing. I need to FOCUS on staying positive and let the negativity go. Make sense? Well...it does to me! That's it.

Okay...I am just lovin' this new Hedgie stamp I got from my Mom for Christmas! Is he not the cutest? And of course this Fairiest of them All DP is so awesome too...oh and check out those new pearls! Can you tell I am having fun with all my new toys? ;0)

I hope those of you that received new toys for Christmas are getting the chance to enjoy them!

{ Playin' with more new toys...and an update }

Just thought I would post a quick update on my DD dental surgery on Tuesday. All went well...aside from her initial coming too! Wow! They were not kidding when they said that they tend to be VERY cranky when the first come too after surgery. She was thrashing and screaming. Thank goodness that did not last long, cause that was one of the hardest parts for me. We kept trying to talk to her hoping that if she heard our voice it calm her down...but no way! She finally settled down and went back to sleep and the next time she woke up was much better! There has been no pain at all...which is awesome! They only thing that was bothering her was the IV site. She finally took the bandage off her hand lastnight and now we know why. You should see the nasty bruise she ended up with. Pretty much takes up the entire top of her hand! Wow! But she did very well, considering all the work they did on her...1 very nasty absessed tooth pulled, 2 baby root canals with crowns, 6 teeth coated and 2 more teeth filled down to buy us some more room in her mouth. We just have to go back on the 22nd to have the spacer put in. Hopefully this will be the last of it for quite awhile! She went back to school today...we were not too sure about sending her, but looks like she decided to finish the day out.



Okay...onto more fun things. Here is another creation using one of my new stamps! I just love these Penny Black Hedgehogs...too cute! The sketch that I used for inspiration was SC196 over at SCS. I am really lovin' this one! I am heading to the SCS Calgary Classic next weekend and plan to work on my Christmas cards all weekend. I am thinking that I might be doing up a bunch of these ones in various color combos. I don't know if you can tell from the photo, but I also added some Crystal Effects to the light bulbs.

Thanks for stoppin' by and hope all the Canadians out there have a great Thanksgiving!! It will be a relaxing weekend here. Hubby works all weekend, but we will be having dinner at his parents on Monday...he will meet us there. But I think we will just relax and get DD back to her normal self.
