{ Deer Friend }

Good morning to you all. Well, looks like it is going to warm up a bit, but also looks like we are in for a bit more snow too. I really need to win the Lotto so that I can pack up and head off somewhere warm and sunny for a bit. I am soooooo done with winter this year!! Oh well...

Today I have a card I made a few weeks ago. Allison had done up a sketch and posted it to an online group we both belong to and I managed to play with it.

To be honest, I was not too sure I could do this one, but I am VERY happy with the way this one turned out! Thanks Allison! And we are actually going to be using this same sketch tomorrow night at our January CALGAL(see my sidebar) night.

I love this little deer image...Forest Friends from TGF! Well...I think I might try and play a bit today.

Have a great day and thanks for stoppin' by.

{ 3 more sleeps! }

Has the panic set in yet? ;0) It will all get done and it will be great no matter what.

Just thought I would pop in today between the tobogganing and wrapping to post a few things.
First off...if you have not discovered THIS blog yet...well check it out!!! Be sure to add your name to the followers list...and Karen might have some freebies for all of us! I will definitely be ordering some of her fabulous digis after Christmas is over!!!

Here is another creation I did using my new Verve stamps...

This was a very simple card...but I still like it. This one was using the CFC12 sketch...once again never got it posted in time! ;0)

Thanks for stoppin' by today and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

{So far behind...}

on posting challenges! Here was my take on CFC4...I never did get this posted in time...oh well.

Not much to this one, but I really like the boldness of this sketch.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. The weather has definitely been nice here in Calgary. I can't believe it is November already! Does not feel like it with these mild temperatures and no snow! I just know we will pay for it eventually though.

So has everyone gotten a start on the Christmas shopping yet? I am happy to report that I have and am doing quite well thus far...thank you online shopping!! I am pretty much done my kids already...just the stuff from the Big Guy, getting a good start on my Mom and almost done with my Aunt and Uncle. Just have my hubby, nieces and nephew and MIL to start on. So all in all? I am very happy! I say every year that I want to be done by December 1st and it never happens...well I might actually have a shot this year! Then maybe I can actually get some other stuff done this year for Christmas that I always say I am gonna do, but never get the time to actually do...ie; Christmas baking and making a few giftie items.

Thanks for stoppin' by, have a great weekend and everyone stay healthy!! So much nastiness going around.

{ Happy Birthday Em! }

Today is my oldest daughters Bday. The big 8!! Wow! 8 already? Not only is it her Bday today, but the kids have their Halloween parties at school...Mommy had to make cupcakes and cookies lastnight. Then tonight is Em's Bday party. We are having some Pizza, Cupcakes, a little craft and then Popcorn and a screening of Hannah Montana The Movie. And then tomorrow is Halloween. Where has the time gone? Halloween already? And then we have to start getting things ready for Christmas!! Yikes! One day at a time. ;0)

Anyway...just thought I would share Em's Bday card before I start cleaning the house.

This happens to also be my take on this weeks MojoMonday. I decided to use some of the Hannah Montana stickers the girls happen to have. I am quite happy with the way this one turned out. I asked her sister if she wanted to make one herself or sign this from all of us...she was super excited when she saw it and said 'From me too!!' So I think it will be a well liked card. ;0)

Well...I am off to clean the house and maybe have a bath. Not feeling great today, so hopefully I can feel better before the party and a house full of 7 & 8 year old little girls!!

Have a great Halloween!

{ Tuesday Morning Sketches #13 }

Happy Friday to you all! I am kidless right now. The girls are on a playdate right now. They are off early on Fridays and were invited to a friends house this afternoon. It was a little nerve racking for little ol Mom. They took the bus home but stayed on and got off at their friends stop and walked home with her. But I now have my phone call that they safely arrived, so I am good now. ;0)

Okay so onto the card. This is my entry into this weeks Tuesday Morning Sketches. I decided lastnight to play for a bit and managed to make two cards that I really love. Again I am using up some colored images that I have in my stash...and believe me there are lots!! This was an image that I stamped off of Dianne at one of or Calgal nights. This is a Whipper Snapper image I believe and the DP is from the Angel Company.

I am not working this weekend, so I hope to possibly get in some more stampin' time. Hope you all have a great weekend...and stay warm...there is a possiblity of some s*** here tomorrow!! Yikes!

{ Fun with Fred, SU! and SFYTT }

Huh? I know...these titles need some help. ;0)

But, yes...I played with a sketch from SFYTT, a new SU color and some Fred, She Said flowers! I have seen these flowers on Jen's blog for the last little while, but finally took a look at the blog and store...WOW! These flowers are amazing, considering they are just paper! So I thought I would test out one of the freebies from the blog and see how I like them before I make my first purchase. I think I would like the black and white ones...that way I can color them with my Copics to match anything I might need.

I also got to play with the new SU Incolor - Rich Razzleberry with matching ribbon! Thanks to Shannon, all the Calgals got a little sample to try out...she is a very smooth business woman! ;0) I will SO be buying more of this awesome color!!!

And I also tested out THIS sketch over at ihearttostamp.

Thanks for droppin' in today and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

{Mojo Monday Entry}

Sorry for the less than creative title! But here it is. This is my entry for this weeks MojoMonday and the first offical sketch for the new blog. Okay...I was not too sure about this one. I knew right away when I saw the sketch that I wanted to use more of my Fairiest of them All DP, but then the for main image? I decided to go with the rub-ons. This is only the 3rd time in my life that I have used rub-ons. I was not too sure at first, but now...I think I like this one. I added some blue around the cloud to make it come out a bit more. And unfortunately, I only have one size of the oval nesties, so my sentiment oval is little smaller than I had wanted. Okay enough picking it apart. Hope you like it.
Thanks for stoppin' by!

{ LCSC #12 Entry }

Good day everyone! I got the chance to play a bit lastnight and decided to work on this weeks LCSC #12. This week Jen said with the sketch we could use an Anthony & Burt stamp. And since I just happen to have one now...I decided to play! I was not too sure about these images once I received it. Just cause it is a bit big. But I actually quite like it. They are kinda cute, don't you think? I like the image just not totally sold on my choice of papers. But it is okay.

Since I am talking about Littlecs, just thought I would let you all know about the great sale that Jen is having for the entire month of October! 35% off Everything! Go! Check it out!

Thanks for stoppin' by and a big Happy Turkey Day to all the Canadians out there! Enjoy!

{ Playin' with my new toys }

I was able to make a few cards yesterday with all my new loot! So I thought I would work on Jen's LCWC #11. I used some of my new DP and embellishments. Not 100% sold on this one, but I think it is okay. I do love those snowflakes though! I also used my new Snowdots Cuttlebug folder that I picked up from Littlec's.

Tomorrow is the big day for my oldest to have some dental surgery done. Not looking forward to it, but hoping all goes well. They are putting her under for 60-70mins and doing a bunch of work. She has been having nightmares for the past week and lastnight she was waking up every 1 1/2- 2hrs! She told Daddy that she thinks she is just scared about tomorrow. Poor thing.

Well, I am off to work on this months class project before I head off to work.

Thanks for stoppin' by and have a great day!

{ Yes...I am still alive! }

Sorry everyone! We did make it back from camping...it's just been busy around here. I was working and then hubby's lastday of holidays on Sunday we took the kids to Calaway Park for the last time this season. Then yesterday I decided to go through the kids clothes to see what we need to buy for school...which starts in 1 week!! Then I decided to clean their rooms! Why? I have no idea!! 6 hours later I was done both rooms and then 2 hours after that we were done cleaning up the playroom downstairs! What a job...but it is all clean now. I decided to take everything out of their rooms and put all the toys...accept for stuffed animals and dressup clothes...down in the basement. I was getting sick and tired of having 'stuff' in everyroom of the house. Hopefully this will help to keep the mess...at least most of it...in the basement, where I only have to see it when I go down to stamp! Nothing new to show off right now, so here is an old one that I have not posted yet...

This one was for the Color Throwdown #2 and I also used Mojo Monday Sketch #47. Simple, but I think it turned out okay. Now...if I can get the camera to work I will take a pic of a newer creation and get that posted for ya tomorrow.

I will leave you with the only good shot we got on the last camping trip. Of course the only 1 nice day we had we for got the camera and the fact that the darn thing is not working!! Don't you just love cameras...when they work!! Anyway here is a pic of El trying to stay warm under the towel, while her sister is busy making a big trench in the sand. I actually spent more time in the water this day even though it was rather chilly. But I guess with the air temp being lower the water didn't feel all that bad. Okay...it was still cold, but I guess it could have been worse. ;0)

{ Anni-verve-sary Sketch Challenge 1 }

Okay, so if you have not already heard...go on over to SCS and check out Julee's Anni-verve-sary Sketch Challenge. It is 12 days of Sketch Challenges. If you complete all 12 and upload onto the correct daily sketch, you will be in the running to win the entire new August release!! I just found out about it yesterday, so I have a few to catch up on as today is day 4. GO! NOW!!

So here is my take on
AVS01...I decided...since I have a ton of colored images, I really should start using them. And since I really need to get some Christmas cards started...well you get the picture. ;0) I have another 6 or seven of these Snowbunny Bellas colored in all different colors. I should do a group of these ones. Although some are not 'typical' Christmas colors, but they will still be pretty cards.
Okay, I am off to beat my children...just kidding...but I better find something to do before they either kill eachother or I do it for them!! I am really hoping today is a better day outside for some pool/sprinkler fun!! And I want to sit outside and read my new book! I picked up Breaking Dawn yesterday at Costco. I read the first 2 chapters quickly last night...oh my oh my!! ;0)

Later!

{ one more for today...}

I almost forgot to post my creation for Jen's LCSC #2. It's not the greatest...once again, me fighting to make ribbon work!! Uggg. Oh well...one more Christmas card for the stash anyway. ;0)

{ Proud Mommy Moment }

This week my girls have been in swimming lessons. My oldest is...well...she is a big chicken when it comes to almost everything. She just lacks confidence in most things...it's something we struggle with a lot with her. Anyway... during swimming lessons she has always struggled to put her face in the water and most recently letting go of the edge of the pool...despite the fact that she can touch the bottom of the pool. ;0) Well all week in lessons this has continued and the teacher was always having to hold her as she did her front and back floats and glides. Each day she has been practicing on her own at the side...trying to let go...for a second at a time. ;0) And then on Thursday the teacher put flippers on all the kids. She started trying on her own...which was exciting. Then at the end of the class he had them all swim the entire length of the pool! I thought...this should be interesting. Well guess what? She did it! The entire length of the pool she was swimming with the other kids. The teacher was actually helping some of the other kids with their technique and was no where near her. She was right in the middle of the pack...SWIMMING!!! Let's just say I was very close to tears. So with that in mind, I decided that she needed a card...and I had a challenge to complete too. ;0)

I am not 100% happy with this card. There are a few little issues with it, but she liked it.
I just noticed that the ribbon was crooked for the pic...oh well.
This one was for
Jen's LCAWC #1. This one was a sketch done by Maria. The card turned out okay, but I just am not thrilled with all the white...kinda sticks out too much. What do you think?
I was cleaning up my stamp room lastnight...god knows it needs it!! But, man do I have a lot of scraps! I need to find me a good sketch for using up scraps of DP. Anyone have a good one??
Have a great weekend all! :0)

{ 7 more sleeps!! }

Yes, I am getting a tiny bit excited!! So far, so good...the girls still do not know. Here's hoping it stays that way. Now both of the girls teachers and the office know they will be away...hopefully everyone will keep their mouth shut!! ;0)

Oh and in case any one is wondering? Yes...it is still snowing here!!! I am so sick of this weather! There is no break until about Friday. They say that we are suppose to have sun and about 9C or 10C for the weekend and then up to about 13C on Monday...we will see about that.

So I think this card is quite fitting...

I had made this one for Beates Weekend Sketch Challenge...but of course never got it posted in time. But I saw that my friend Nancy won this weeks Challenge! Woohoo, Nancy! I got to use another one of my new TAC sets. I loved these penguins when I saw them in last years catalogue, but they were a hostess set. I was so excited to see them in the catalogue!! This was a fun sketch...might be using this one again.

Thanks for stoppin' by and hope it is sunny and warm where you are...or maybe not! ;0)

{ Hap-bee Day! }

A quick post today...almost time for work. Here was my entry for last weeks Mojo Monday...I forgot to post it though! Oh well...I still had fun with this one. This is one of the Bee images that I received from Miss DottieK. The background was done with my cuttlebug and then used some chalks to color in the images. The yellow strip was a bit too bold so I sponged on some black chalk. I really like this one. And I really love this sketch. I can definitely see myself using this one again.
I am gonna have to get busy stampin'...this is my last card to show you!! Yikes!

Have a great Wednesday! :0)

{ Lovin' this sketch }

I really love this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. I actually did a couple, but this one is the one that turned out the best.

I used a stampset from my blog candy win from Maria in December. Love these flowers!! I also used some clear medallions on the bottom ones. I had won these as blog candy last year...I think...and had not used them yet. I am actually quite happy with the way this one turned out! I am thinkin' I might make a few more with this sketch. Thanks for the great sketch Julee!!

Well, I will make this a quick one. We are just on our way out the door to make a visit to the Dr. I have both kids home sick today!! Yikes! The oldest probably could have gone, but she now has this rash in a rather personal area and I don't want her scratching herself all day long! ;0) Besides that fact that I can decide if she sounds sexy or sounds like the devil!! Poor thing!

Hope you all have a great weekend! I am gonna try and get some projects done this weekend. I have been meaning to make a journal and I have some samples done for my class next week...as well as work on some DT stuff for Diana over at Scor-pal. So a busy weekend of stamping ahead! :0)

{ Bingo Round 2 }

Barb's Round 2 has begun and this round we are to make Bella creations. So I started thinking of what to make? One of my goals for this year is to actually use what I have and not buy more stuff. So that being said, I remembered that I have a stack of ATC's (Artist Trading Cards)from swaps that I was a part of lastyear. One such swap was a Bella ATC swap hosted by Laura. So I looked through them and picked out this great ATC by none other than Kendra Giles! I think I am happy with the way this one turned out. And guess what? this is my 8th creation this year. I am on a roll!! ;0)

Look at what I picked up at Michaels yesterday?!

I love this thing! I have been wanting something to organize all my tools that I use on a regular basis. All my pens, adhesive and whatnot are always on the other side of the room. Now they are right in front of me!! Very cool. :0)

And look at what else I did this weekend!! I organized all of my unmounted stamps!! I have 2 dozen CD cases full. The one on top is holding all my High Hopes and I have a few more loose ones...so I guess I will need to pick up a few more. But I am very happy with this storage system. It almost makes me want to unmount all my SU stamps...almost! ;0)

{ Mmmmm...Chai...}

I was so excited to see that Beate is back and with her Weekend Sketch Challenges too!! So lastnight I played with some new stamps and here is my entry into this weeks Weekend Sketch Challenge.

This is from the new stampset that my bloggin' friend Catherine sent me in December. I love this set. But I am a Tazo Chai addict...to the fullest extent!! Thanks again, Catherine. :0)

{ I completed a challenge...woohoo!! }

Maria is having a blog candy/challenge on both of her blogs and one of the challenges yesterday was a sketch challenge. So I went down to my stamp room and got one more Christmas card done and a challenge too!! It is pretty simple...but I like it. I just love these new TAC snowman images I got. They are fun to color!!

Maria also had another challenge to photograph your stamping space as it is now. And tell what one item is your comfort or calming item. I would have to say that a permanent fixture would be my music and my normal item which is usually with me is my cup of Tazo Chai...not in this pic. ;0)

Okay...an update on the family. Took DD #2 to the dr today and turns out she has Bronchitis on top of the flu...poor thing. Got some really strong cough meds for her, so hopefully she will be feeling better soon. She actually wanted some crackers when we got home and ate 3! That's the most solid food she has had in 3 days! Daddy on the other hand? Still sick!!

{ TTC #1 - okay where did my mojo go??? }

So I realized lastnight that it has been about 10 days since I last stamped! So I head down lastnight to do some stampin' and decide to work on Nancy & Cindy's Try This Challenge.

Is this attempt pathetic or what??!!

I struggle so much with this one. I decided on a 4 1/4 X 4 1/4 card base. Well then do you think I could find anything circular in this house to make my half circle top?? No!! I really should have looked at Cindy and Nancy's cards a little more. Now I think I just needed another layer. Okay, maybe I will work on another one this weekend!! You should try this one...it is a good challenge!
